What began for me as teaching sabbatical of sorts turned into honeymoon travel and a nine-month stint as a scholar of francophone African literature in Senegal. One things leads to another, and French teacher became a trainer of African Union peace-keepers. Whether training soldiers in Africa, or teaching students French in Arlington, get ready for some stories!

Ch-ch-ch-changes
So here we are in a new home in Arlington. Sold the bungalow in Del Ray. Not without tears but here we are, and we are happy to be here. I will also be changing jobs, starting Monday. Saying goodbye to my trips to Africa and my peace-keeping training. Saying bonjour to classroom teaching again. A new chapter unfolds.

We are all going thru that these days, but like always keep the faith and it will be ok.
I will miss your trips to Africa but not as much as it sounds like you will. I hope your teaching position will be exciting in a different sort of way.
